One area where PFL has built up an enviable reputation is in the field of special projects or designs. Again it is the use of traditional skills allied to modern, state of the art design and manufacturing processes that allows the company the flexibility to accommodate a diverse range of requests from clients.

One area in which our pattern shop specializes, is in the manufacture of press tooling for the moulding of heavy gauge sheet material such as Acrylic and ABS. The completed tooling being used to manufacture items as diverse as signage for use by banks, shops, garages and vehicle manufacturers to counter and point of sale display stands.

Within this sphere of its operations the company undertake design, development and manufacture of a variety of projects for an equally diverse range of clients.

The wide-ranging projects undertaken have included

• Modifications and adaptations for existing thermoforming machinery
• Prototyping to enable assessment of conceptual ideas
• Injection moulding & blow moulding prototypes.
• Shopfront Signage.
• Battle tank gun sights and space models for the Ministry of Defence.

Increasingly clients are taking advantage of what has proved to be a cost effective service that can supply any number of precision prototypes for a negligible expenditure.

Form Fill & Seal Tooling
One area in which we have gained considerable expertise is the manufacture of tooling for the Form Fill and Seal machines used in the packaging of articles such as pens, pencils, stationery requisites, ironmongery and motor parts.

Expanded Polystyrene Injection Moulding
The production of specialist split moulds for expanded polystyrene components for use in packaging or in evaporative pattern casting operations.

High Frequency Welding Tools
This is another area where the use of sophisticated software systems together with state of the art machining capabilities ensures that PFL has the capability and the knowledge to create and produce even the most complex HFW profiles
